Born; 16 June 1884 at Walworth.
Parents; Benjamin Soddy (1855-1895) = Mary Gilbert (1857-1942).
Married; Edith May Heale (c.1885-1957) on 7 May 1918.
Children; Rawdon James (1919-1943), Jean Marigold (1921-19??).
Occupation; Chartered accountant. Worked at Soddy, Partridge & Co., (with his partner Ernest Partridge) Chartered
Accountants of 25 Ironmonger Lane, London E.C.2, and 122 Terminus Road, Eastbourne (telephone Eastbourne 700).
Retired to Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst.
H.R.Gilbert has a poorly written note by him dated 1964 (possibly to Leslie) referring to the will of Benjamin Soddy
(1822-1911), details of which have been noted on the back. "If you are not very interested I may as well keep
Grandpa Soddy's probate and will with my packet of family papers. I wondered if I would give it to Tom one day. - I
heard from him this morning." (Tom would be Rev.Thomas Soddy, retired in Seaford. Tom died in 1968).
Died; 22 October 1971 in his sleep, at home in Lyndhurst, aged 87, Cremated.
c.1885 - 1957 EDITH MAY SODDY (nee HEALE)
Born; c.1885 (aged 33 at her wedding).
Parents; only daughter of Mr. & Mrs.R.Heale.
She was a nurse. Was first Nightingale gold medallist at St.Thomas's Hospital in 1914.
Married; Robert James Soddy (1884-1971) on 7 May 1918.
Children; Rawdon James (1919-1943), Jean Marigold (1921-19??).
Died; 6 September 1957.
1919 - 1943 RAWDON JAMES SODDY
Born; 23 March 1919, Chelsea
Parents; Robert James Soddy(1884-1971) = Edith May Heale (c1885-1957)
Lived at Lyndhurst. Educated at Gresham's and St.Thomas's Hospital.
Joined the Colonial Medical Service.
Died; 11 July 1943. Killed by enemy action at sea, World War 2.
1921 - 19?? JEAN MARIGOLD SODDY
Born; 17 September 1921, Kingston
Parents; Robert James Soddy(1884-1971) = Edith May Heale (c.1885-1957)
Educated at St.Paul's Girls School.
Was at the Bank of England during World War 2 (about 7 years). A nurse.
Living at The Gate House, Beaulieu, Lyndhurst, in the 1980s.
