Occupation; Described as "journeyman, wood sawyer" in 1903, as "stoker" on his son George's marriage certificate in 1923, and shown on his death certificate as "sawyer (timber merchants) retired" in 1953.
Living at 39 Carter Street, Mile End, London in 1903.
Living at 76 Canal Road, Mile End at the 1911 Census. Sawyer.
Living at 61 St.Ann's Road, Barking, Essex in 1953.
Died; 29 September 1953, at 24 Digby Road, Barking (probably his daughter Edith's house), aged 79.
Buried; Barking cemetery, Grave D36, Section L.

1878 - 1965 ALICE MARY CLEMENTSON (nee TITE)

Parents; George Tite = ??
(Or she could be the Alice M Tite born c.1876 at Marylebone, daughter of James F Tite (c.1849-??) & Annie, living at 33 New Cavendish Street, Marylebone at the 1881 Census, aged 5.)
Married; Frederick Clementson (1874-1953) on 16 August 1896, Old Ford, St Pauls, Tower Hamlets.
Children; Frederick C. (1895-1916), Edith "Edie" (c.1899-196?), George William (1903-1975), William (1905-1992), Doris "Doll" (1907-19??).

1895 - 1916 FREDERICK C CLEMENTSON

Born; July 1895, Mile End, London.
Parents; Frederick Clementson (1874-1953) = Alice M.Tite (1878-1965)

On 17 August 1914 Frederick enlisted in 10 Battalion, The Rifle Brigade, aged 19 years, 1 month, No.S/11834.
He described his civilian occupation as "labourer".
To the British Expeditionary Force in 1915, embarked for 4th Battalion, France on 29 June 1915. Transferred to The Front on 1 July 1915.
Killed in action on 15 August 1916 as Acting Corporal.
Rifleman Clementson was awarded the British War Medal posthumously in 1921.

(Her marriage certificate shows her father's name as George William Pack.)

11 Welsh Street, Hoxton, Shoreditch at the 1911 Census, errand girl at a millinery warehouse.
15 Stanley Houses, Shoreditch in 1923.

Married; George William Clementson (1903-1975) on 9 September 1923 at St.Peter's, Hoxton Sq., Shoreditch.
The marriage certificate shows his age as 23 (actually 20), and hers as 25 (actually 28).
Children; Frederick George (1923-2004), Ellen 'Doll' (1926-2011), Irene Margaret (1932-1980)
Living at 20 Digby Road, Barking, probably in the 1930s.
Evacuated to 68 Salisbury Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, during World War 2.

Died; 29 August 1977, St.George's Hospital, Hornchurch, Essex (had been in Mayesbrook Nursing Home, Bevan Avenue, Barking for some time).

(Note; His date of birth shown on a 1934 copy of his Birth Certificate is 24 April 1903. But his Marriage Certificate in 1923 shows age 23, and the date of birth on his Death Certificate in 1975 is shown as 24 April 1902. Assume Birth Certificate is correct.)
